Your pet deserves a loving home, and we will work tirelessly to find that perfect match.

The Surrender Process

The surrender process for a dog can vary depending on the rescue organization or shelter, but here’s a general outline of what you can expect with Homebound Rescue:

1.
Reach Out: Contact us at info@homeboundrescue.com to receive a surrender intake form.

2.
Schedule an Appointment: If we're able to do intake, we will require you to set up an appointment for the surrender. This allows us to provide your pet a foster home.

3.
Prepare Documentation: Be prepared to provide any relevant information about your dog, including medical history, vaccination records, behavioral notes, and any special needs.

4.
Meet with Staff: During the appointment, you will likely meet with a staff member or volunteer who will guide you through the process. They may ask questions about your dog’s behavior, personality, and reasons for surrendering.

5.
Evaluate the Dog: We may conduct a brief evaluation of your dog to assess their health and behavior. This helps us understand how best to care for your pet and find an appropriate home for them.

6.
Sign Surrender Agreement: If you decide to proceed, you will be asked to sign a surrender agreement. This document confirms that you are relinquishing ownership of the dog and allows the us  to place them for adoption.

7.
Fees: We do not have a surrender fee but donations are appreciated to go towards the dogs in our care.

8.
Final Farewell: Take a moment to say goodbye to your dog. This can be an emotional part of the process, and it's okay to express your feelings.
